Pekin's Local is built by two people who have been fighting for cannabis legalization their entire adult lives — a cannabis attorney and a cannabis media pioneer who've helped shape the industry from the beginning.

Thomas is a cannabis attorney licensed in Illinois and Wisconsin, recognized by Leading Lawyers and Super Lawyers, and quoted in the Wall Street Journal. He's the founding attorney of Howard East Law Firm and founding director of Collateral Base, a cannabis business consulting firm that has helped clients win licenses across dozens of states and countries.
As a NORML Legal Committee member and Certified Ganjier, Thomas has spent his career at the intersection of law, policy, and cannabis access. He co-hosts Cannabis Legalization News, a podcast with 500K+ followers dedicated to keeping the cannabis community informed.
